Carni+ Carnipure®
Carnitine is an amino acid derivative that our body produces from the amino acids lysine and methionine when in the presence of iron, niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin C. It is considered a essential amino acid conditioned because, under certain conditions (hereditary disorders of synthesis processes, liver failure, aciduria, intense physical activity), its lack of intake through food causes a state of deficiency. The synthesis of this amino acid takes place mainly at the hepatic and renal level and its absorption occurs in the small intestine. 98% of the carnitine present in the body is found in the skeletal muscle and the heart .
Carnitine performs several functions within our body, one of the most important being to promote the oxidation of long-chain fatty acids for energy production .
Carnitine has, in fact, the main function of fatty acid transport long-chain inside the mitochondria of muscle cells where, under the effect of beta-oxidation, they are used to produce energy in the form of ATP, by saving muscle glycogen. Therefore, carnitine promotes muscle energy metabolism.
Carnitine is also very important for keep the Acetyl CoA / CoA ratio constant inside the cell. Indeed, a optimal ratio favours and increases muscle energy metabolism by reducing the inhibitory effect exerted by the enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase, which allows the conversion of pyruvate and lactate into Acetyl CoA. This function of carnitine could limit the accumulation of lactic acid , allow an increase in energy metabolism and therefore athletic and sporting performance. Thanks to this, it also indirectly affects the metabolism of carbohydrates and proteins by reducing the use of glucose for energy purposes.
Why choose CARNI+?
CARNI+ Thanks to its carnitine content and the presence of vitamin E, it contributes to:
- to improve muscle energy metabolism
- to maintain high levels of concentration
- to increase the duration of exercise and delay the onset of fatigue
- to combat muscle injuries by facilitating recovery after performance
